VOLUME functions as a catalyst for interdisciplinary new media work through exhibitions, performances, events, lectures, and publications. Concentrating on the nexus of music and visual arts practices ranging from the avant-garde to popular culture, VOLUME offers unique opportunities for artists to create and present hybrid works.


Staff

Ed Patuto, Co-Director

Ed Patuto has been a fundraiser for nearly 20 years including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA), the San Francisco Art Institute, and Montalvo Arts Center. He was a founder of the Castillo Cultural Center in New York, where he both produced and performed in several productions. As a dancer, his performance credits include the Lyric Opera of New York and Men Together. In 2006 he produced the Bleeding Edge Festival at the Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, CA.


Robert Crouch, Co-Director

Los Angeles based artist and curator Robert Crouch has exhibited his work in London, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. He co-curated the minimalist music festival, Immersion, at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA) in 2004, and the experimental multimedia music series, Visual Music: See Hear Now! at MOCA and the Roy and Edna Disney Cal Arts Theater (REDCAT) in 2005. He also co-curated the Bleeding Edge Festival at the Montalvo Arts Center in 2006. Crouch holds a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts.
